I feel like my body is in first gear

This sensation is different from what you might imagine. It's neither personal nor political; it falls somewhere in between, perhaps lingering near my throat or nestled closer to my gut. I experience a mixture of swift and sluggish emotions. As I experience them, I find myself constantly sipping water. My desire is to accept and move beyond these feelings, shedding the heap of clothes that currently envelopes me. Once I am out, I want to feel the sun and be able to walk on water.
